Bastrop Murals

I was engaged by the city of Bastrop, Texas to paint two transformer boxes.  I finished them today (several weeks of work).  Bastrop has a wild chicken sanctuary, so the chickens are significant to the city.  But really, I painted my own backyard chickens (Hotwings, Lacy, Zap, LaVerne, Goldie, etc.).

The Hunters

This is a new painting which I recently finished. The painting is of my three grandsons, Orion, Aidan and Wyatt, at the west Texas deer lease where their parents hunt. As the boys are only 4, 6 and 7, they are not quite old enough to hunt themselves, but they have their pretend rifles and they pretend. In the painting they are returning to camp after a hunt.

The original went to my daughter for her birthday.

I have 8x10 prints available.

Cowjunto Music

My design won a cow! Well, not a real cow. I painted one for the Austin Cow Parade. It's now on display in downtown Austin at 5th St. and Congress Ave. The cow is a play on words on conjunto music - Tex Mex music featuring accordions and bajo sexto (12 string sort of guitar). You can find a video of me and some accordion players playing "cowjunto" music with the cow at the Cow Parade preview party on youtube - search "cowjunto." I've posted 20 photos here, so look at the older posts to see all the pictures of the cow in progress.
